So what can you do...?
Despite the fact that vegetarianism has been around for thousands of years, many people still do not understand what it means to be a vegetarian. The more we can get the word out about vegetarianism and dispel some of those crazy myths
that exist about us, the better life will be for all of us!
There are lots of ways to get the message across about vegetarianism. However you decide to do it, do not be tempted to break the law or do any stunt which may lead to an accident. This will only serve to convince the general public that vegetarians are odd or anti-social.
Here are a few ideas:
Write and send letters and emails These could be to your local newspaper, MP, supermarket, restaurant or school.
Start your own vegetarian group and meet like minded people in your area.
Create your own website or blog Have a look at some of the sites other young veggies have created to give you inspiration!
Organise a fundraising event and have some fun at the same time.
Become a Youth Contact for the Vegetarian Society.
Take a look at some of the activities other young veggies have been up to Young Veggie Action.
Tell us what you have been doing so we can add it to the action page: education@vegsoc.org
