Getting Involved

Even with so many vegetarians out there, some people still don’t seem to understand what it means to be veggie. You can help raise awareness. Whether it’s quietly talking to your family and friends about why you went veggie, or taking part in a national campaign, you can make a big difference.

We want to help you to make a difference for yourself and other vegetarians. Why not have a look at the Veggie Chat section where you can see what other vegetarians are discussing, or if you have a question, why not start a discussion?

You can find all the latest information on Vegetarian Society campaigns, including information and ideas on ways to get involved in National Vegetarian Week, our annual awareness-raising campaign promoting inspirational vegetarian food and the benefits of a meat-free lifestyle. There are also seasonal campaigns such as The True Cost of Christmas and other items such our Young Veggie Turkey Facts (and at least one fiction).

In the 'So, what can you do?' section, you can find tips on writing letters and emails, information about starting your own veggie group and suggestions on fundraising ideas.

Of course another great way to get involved is to join us as a Youth Member, and once you're a member you could also become a Youth Contact.

And don't forget to contact us to let us know how we can help, and tell us how you get on. Good luck!
