Forest Green Rovers, a football club from Gloucestershire who play in the Conference, just one step below League 2, have now banned players and supporters from eating red meat at their home stadium. Belgian city goes meat free every Thursday

Much respect to our European neighbours in the Belgian city of Ghent who have decided to officially nominate Thursday as their weekly meat free day. As part of the deal, schools in the city will have to provide vegetarian lunch options, everyone taking part will be given a free veggie goodie-bag and cooking classes are being arranged for individuals and professional chefs.

11 year old James Maxwell has made the headlines on BBC’s Newsround website for his decision to become vegetarian and campaign against animal cruelty on factory farms. He's received an award from the People For Ethical Treatment of Animals in recognition of all his work and we think he ’s great too!


Half of baseball buys into veggie hotdogs

All hail Johanna McCoy! This really dedicated woman has already spent eight years on her mission to get veggie hot dogs included on the menu of every American major league baseball ground. Now I’ve always been more of a cricket man myself, but this woman is an inspiration to anyone like me who has ever struggled and failed to find veggie food at a sporting venue! Will start writing my letter to the MCC (the bosses of cricket) now!
